YOU MUST go to C-Span.org and then do a search for 'stephen colbert' and watch the 'stephen colbert at white house correspondents' association dinner'

Only John Stewart would have been as brave as Colbert in the face of GW. Maybe even stewart wouldn't do it?? I guess we'll never know.

DeLay Inc. systematized exchange of favors

WAKE UP EVERYONE
DeLay Inc. systematized exchange of favors: "majority, using federal officers to trail Texas Democrats across state lines so he could gerrymander four congressman out of their seats, a criminal indictment for money- laundering, and his association with notorious lobbyist Jack Abramoff.
DeLay looked giddily happy, not one hair on his carefully coiffed head out of place, in the mug shot taken when he appeared for fingerprinting at the Harris "

News Hounds: Assault on Academia Continues: N. J. School Teacher Cannot Release Results of Mock War Crimes Trial of Bush

I can only guess that the outcome must be a problem...
News Hounds: Assault on Academia Continues: N. J. School Teacher Cannot Release Results of Mock War Crimes Trial of Bush: "Mock War Crimes Trial of Bush
Yesterday morning on FOX & Friends, Steve Doocy and E. D. Hill interviewed Michael Capsouras, head of the Parsippany New Jersey Teachers Association, about a mock trial that has been in progress for a couple of weeks in an Honors History class at Parsippany High School. The project was approved at all levels of the school administration but, thanks to a 'firestorm' created largely by the Drudge Report and other right wing media outlets, it was announced that the teacher, Joseph Kyle, will not be permitted to release the actual outcome of the trial to the public.
Earlier in the segment E. D. Hill argued that the teacher should have picked something from history, where the students would have to research 'history and facts and argue a factual case' as opposed to making stuff up. Capsouras corrected her misconception, noting that the students were required to use facts from the internet, magazines, newspapers, etc. to bolster their arguments, He also pointed out that Mr. Kyle has done this for years and in fact held a mock impeachment trial of Bill Clinton during the Clinton presidency.
DOOCY: Here's one of the problems. At the end of the trial - and it could end today - he's not gonna make the results known. Why not?
CAPSOURAS (choosing his words carefully): People felt it might not be a good idea. I personally disagree. It's like playing baseball and then not having a winner declared at the end of nine innings. However, because of the firestorm, they are just saying they'll be evaluated. What the administration - who again approved this - you need to understand this was approv"

Guardian Unlimited | Special reports | Michael Yardley: How not to shoot people

Guardian Unlimited | Special reports | Michael Yardley: How not to shoot people: "When Dick Cheney accidentally shot and wounded millionaire lawyer Harry Whittingdon this weekend, he broke the first rule of gun safety. As Commander Mark Beaufoy put it in 1908: 'Never, never let your gun/Pointed be at anyone.' Cheney did, and the results, which might have been fatal, appear only to have been uncomfortable for his unfortunate victim. Shooting accidents in the US, which has 80 million gun owners, are not uncommon. There are thousands of fatalities each year. Happily, they are much rarer in the UK."

Col. Jessep Goes A-Hunting

Col. Jessep Goes A-Hunting: "hopes.) Of course, at times when public opinion is trending perilously the wrong way, Cheney apparently is happy to play the Washington game and leak information that bolsters his argument and tears down his opponents. According to press reports last week, Cheney's former aide Scooter Libby now says it was his 'superiors' who instructed him to do the kind of leaking that has him facing trial on federal charges."
