Bush proves Karl Marx right? Heresy!

The Nation | Comment | Bush's Religious Language | Juan Stam: "hatred of his nation: 'There are people who hate freedom.' In other words, they are so evil that they abhor the good because it is good. (But if the terrorists hate freedom, why have they not attacked Canada, which in some respects is more democratic than the United States? Why is there not the same hatred for Switzerland, Holland or Costa Rica?) "

Hammurabi's Code of Laws

EAWC Anthology: Hammurabi's Code of Laws: "enriched Ur; the humble, the reverent, who brings wealth to Gish-shir-gal; the white king, heard of Shamash, the mighty, "
Victor told me of Hammurabi, and I google'd it and here is the list: Hammurabi's Code Of Laws.

An interesting (albeit as archaic) alternative to the ten commandments. At least Hammurabi had a sense of justice. You don't just NOT DO IT, you DIE FOR DOING IT!! :) ENJOY! John

The TenCommandments

I have not read all of this, just skimmed, but I'd like to go back later and really read. It's interesting.

I like the quote he's got at the beginning:

"It has often been said that anything may be proved from the Bible; but before anything can be admitted as proved by the Bible, the Bible itself must be proved to be true; for if the Bible be not true, or the truth of it be doubtful, it ceases to have authority, and cannot be admitted as proof of anything." ~THOMAS PAINE
